Alternate History: WAC raids the MAC
What if, instead of inviting Seattle and Texas-Arlington, the WAC lured in six members from the MAC?
As of June 2011, in real life, this would be the 2013 lineup for the WAC:
San Jose State, Idaho, Utah State, NMSU, UTSA, Texas State, Louisiana Tech, Seattle (no fb), Denver (no fb), UTA (no FB)
Boise State would announce moving everything other than football to the WAC in January 2012, with football playing in the Big East. A few months later, everything fell apart.
This would be the 2013 WAC as of June 2011 in the alternate timeline:
West - San Jose State, Idaho, Utah State, NMSU, UTSA, Texas State
East - Louisiana Tech, Northern Illinois, Ball State, CMU, Toledo, Miami (OH)
Non-football - Boise State, Denver, UTA
San Jose State and Utah State still run off to the Mountain West, and Boise State still backs out since it backs out of the Big East.
Do Louisiana Tech, UTSA, Texas State, and UTA still depart? Do any FCS schools in the footprint join the WAC, like a Missouri State or North Dakota State? Does Idaho still downgrade, and if so, who replaces them?
As far as the remaining six MAC schools go, how do they rebuild?
