Not everybody that comes over here to talk is a troll, or wants to stir the pot.

Maybe I should have been more gentle, but let's face it, nobody here was super inviting either.

Just stating the facts. Now let's move forward and have some fun conversations with this crazy news.

To be fair, just saying, I posted sources in an article that talked about a president looking at realignment or a reconfiguration.

And I got destroyed here.

We were also punched in the nuts by y'all saying we don't have enough power to do that. Then a poster on this board puts out there with similar content, no sources. And not slammed

Ok. Seems fair.

You were pushing a new conference - I don't think that will happen.

Everyone realizes that teams may try to move up. The remnants will have to band together,. That isn't the same thing as what you posted.

But I think we're saying the same thing. This poster quoted an unknown source that said the remnants not able to join the new AAC would form a reconfiguration between the Sun Belt and CUSA, that's exactly what I was trying to say.

I don't know whether what that poster is true. And, I'm not vouching for the poster or the post.

But, that poster is a regular poster here. That poster is a fan of a school in the SBC.

You're new to this board, seem like you're a lurker, and your school isn't a member of the SBC.

So, in my opinion, that's the distinction.

I get it, and I understand what you're saying. But to be fair, lurkers don't have nearly 5,000 posts and have a join date of 10 years ago.

I am in no means a lurker here. I post on the CUSA board, AAC and Sun Belt.

I've also posted here on a number of occasions, one being the TV media post that showed some TV viewership numbers from the last couple years.

Whatever, I'm just trying to explain the inconsistency here.

Dude, just quit. No one cares about your Marshall theories on this board. Move along already.

Yep. I don't think Coastal is in the mix but there is a reason that we announced a major gift for athletics this week that will allow us to start construction on a soccer stadium as well as begin the design process on an indoor practice facility and a stadium expansion to include a new building and bowling in the stands. It's all about trying to sell yourself.

It’s a touchy time for everyone. The fear of the unknown, paired with the weekend beverages of our choice lead to what we’ve seen recently.

Maybe you should stick to the same message on each board. That would be a great start. Bashing the SBC on the CUSA and AAC boards doesn’t help your reputation in here.

Doug Gillen has been looking long and hard for a promotion. Don’t blame him as he’s done a good job. This might be his opportunity.

Was also told the AAC is considering going to 16 and try to kill off the Belt and CUSA. What's left of the Belt and CUSA may end up merging with some teams left out. All this will depend on if App leaves or not. If App leaves others in the Belt will follow. If App stays then they all stay. Leave it to App to mess up a good thing.

This makes no sense. First of all App State doesn't fit the big market, basketball pedigree, athletic budget, or academic rating that the AAC has harped on for years and years. (Troy wouldn't either so please don't take this a slight against App).

ESPN is going to pay AAC $7M/year to add teams they already have under contract for significantly less?

Also why on earth would Gill release his statement if he knew App State feels this way.

Until Brett McMurphy or App State says something I think this is bull. Message board fodder.

If this was 5 years from now, App would have a better shot but if the AAC is also looking for basketball as well then App falls short. I know football drives everything but their location and secondary sports hurts them here, I believe.

We are not saying the same thing. If the AAC goes to 16 then the Belt and CUSA will not have enough teams. One could poach the other but the most likely scenario is the conferences will merge and some teams will be left out. These guys know me and I don't need sources because I have called every realignment correct. I have never posted fantasies or rumors. You on the other hand came in hear with a fantasy east coast league.

If the AAC does go to 16 I see this happening. They are currently at 8 need 8 more. UAb, USM, Marshall are locks in my eyes. So need 5 more. Let the battle begin!!!!

If you've been on this board long enough you'll know I've never told my source. I've also never posted anything that was just a rumor.

This by definition is a rumor because you have nothing to actually back it up or a credible source to refer to.

Never said App would get the invite. Said App was pleading it's case. If App get invited it would start the domino of other in the Belt wanting out.
