Oklahoma squeaks by Tulane
Wow...#2 Oklahoma survives unranked Tulane 40-35. Tulane is one tough team. No quit. How fall should Oklahoma fall?

Tulane played em tough. Week 1 is always a crapshoot. Sometimes good teams just are not ready or need to play 1/2 a game to wake up.

I know it is not in the interest of the Big12 for this year for Oklahoma to lose, but personally I can't help but want them to lose enough games to not make the playoffs and someone else in the conferences steps up and carries.

Yeah, their success would benefit the conference. Can’t really root for them just the same.

If it wasn't for a phantom interference call, Tulane would have won ....

Everyone knew this day was coming. They were holding the conference hostage from expanding. Better late than never. Hopefully we all can make this a conference and have more eyeballs watching which means more money. May take awhile to make up for Oklahoma and Texas but I think we will eventually do it.

While we started briefly to have a hoops rivalry with UT about a decade ago, that kind of petered out. On the other hand, OU was a long time rival. They’re a direct neighbor. It may have been inevitable in the new world, but it’s still somewhat aggravating. But that’s the way of the world.

The one drawback at least in football is that while they carried the banner well nationally, they were so dominant that it was almost boring. I’m looking forward to seeing more teams vie for the title.

Their last National Championship was 2000. That's a long time for a blueblood to go without one.
