Spend the weekend in Cincinnati
Big12 fans, when you come to Cincinnati, stay for the weekend. Great High School football (for recruiting), catch the game on Saturday and (if they’re home) a Reds game in September and/or the Bengals on Sunday. Plus, great restaurants, theater, museums , the Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Zoo, and a lot more.

Cincinnati is a GREAT city for away games and we look forward to hosting you.

Be prepared to accept it does not taste like traditional chili. I always tell people to think of it as a meat sauce.

Our chili is one of those things you really love (as most locals do) or you really hate. There is no in between. We have a ice foodie scene here, if the chili doesn’t work out there are a lot of options.

That’s another thing… it’s not The Montgomery Inn. The Inn is something the locals being up because the restaurant is sort of an institution here. However, the BBQ is not good. For good BBQ I’d recommend Eli’s BBQ, Velvet Smoke, Pontiac, Midwest Best BBQ or Just Q’in BBQ…

Hit up our breweries - plenty of good options. It's one of the best beer scenes in the country.

When you guys and gals do come to visit, trying Skyline Chilli is tough at first (Im originally from Northern Michigan) Now I love it. If that isn't your cup of tea, everyone loves ice cream. Go to Graeters, and order anything or sweet tooth desires, and you will thank me later.

For those of you who love wings, there are three places that must be tried before going anywhere else: Wild Mikes (on the westside), Knock Back Nats (downtown) and Smoke Justis (Covington).

Hofbräuhaus Newport - same as the one in Munich Germany (a bit touristy)

Mecklenburg is a few blocks from UC's campus. A great place to go on game day.

I'm partial to Kreimer's Bier Haus. It's about 20 minutes out of downtown, but it's a beautiful location along the Great Miami River that makes it feel like you're in the middle of Appalachia. The decor and food are second to none.

i too like kreimer's, but saying it feels like appalachia may not be a great selling point. but, you're right. the river is a cool location, and their decor is a bit eclectic- but also neat to look through

RE: Spend the weekend in Cincinnati
Regardless of what type of food you're looking for, there is at least 1 awesome place to eat.

However, the same thing could be said about any big midwestern city nowadays. It's the concept of "if everyone is special, no one is special."

What is truly outstanding, though, is the beer scene. There aren't many cities with the quantity and quality of breweries as Cincinnati. It's up there with Milwaukee in the highest echelon of beer towns.

Other than that, I'd say the most unique thing is honestly the chili. You know how British people can use the word "chips" when they refer to what we call "fries?" It's the same concept... different people can use the same word to talk about 2 different things. It's not that mind-blowing, it really isn't.

And the dig on it that it's "cinnamon" chili is a lie.

If there is actually cinnamon in it you can't taste it.
