I wonder if this tough loss hurts their chances to get into the Big 12?

Had me thinking AAC v FCS losses and how it affects overall perception/performance at seasons end. I think the main takeaways....the AAC has gotten significantly better since 2013 and it's important that your bad teams don't beat up on your good teams.

2020: undefeated, 1 top25
- #8 Cincy

2019: undefeated, 4 top25
- #17 Memphis, #20 Navy, #21 Cincy, #24 UCF

2018: 2 losses, 2 top25
- losses: ECU vs #14 NCA&T, Temple v Villanova
- #11 UCF, #24 Cincy

2017: 1 loss, 3 top25
- losses: ECU vs #1 James Madison
- #6 UCF, #21 USF, #25 Memphis

2016: undefeated, 1 top25
- #19 USF

2015: 2 losses, 2 top25
- losses: UCF vs Furman, SMU vs James Madison
- #8 Houston, #18 Navy

2014: undefeated, 1 top25
- #25 Memphis

What a horrific start for the AAC

It would be fun to watch app state play any aac team from the top half of the conference. I think it’s clear the top 3 teams would be favored(smu, Ucf and Cinci) and it would be fun to see them play houston, Memphis and Tulane. Tulsa as seen is extremely overated. No team had more luck last year and depended on an all American to bail them out.

Monty is a terrible coach.

I think we all suspect that the 2020 virus situation may have created one-off results, both good and bad, for some teams.

In that regard, it is going to be interesting seeing how this seasons unfolds.

I wouldn't throw in the towel on Tulsa yet. The Big Sky is having a pretty good weekend. Montana is leading #20 Washington 10-7 in the 4Q...

Good weekend for the Big Sky. I still think Tulsa will be a factor....

If UC Davis ever decides they want FBS, the MWC would be fools to turn them down.
