I beg to differ. Ten years in the Big12 would move any CUSA school generations ahead of where they sit in CUSA. Don't fool yourself about that.

But the odds of the remaining 4 money conferences absorbing the B12 teams is much greater than any of the rest of us. So if you want any hope at all, you have to join. Plus the money is going to be so much better than any G5. Any of us would be crazy not to jump at the B12. Jumping to the AAC remnants may or may not be smart depending on who is left. But the B12 is a no brainer.

I remember seeing the projected payout for the Big12 sans OU-UT was still double what the AAC was making in media rights. Plus there is a chance they could inherit the LHN as a revitalized Big12 Network. Everyone would do better with schools of OSU, TT and Kansas State coming to their stadiums.

BYU and the Big 12 are literally at the table. I believe Cincy will be next. They are looking for a travel partner for West Virginia. The B12 is trying to keep West Virginia happy. West Virginia would leave in a minute for the ACC.

Yep, the question is where do they stop. If only these two then the AAC will more than likely stand pat and that will be the end of it. Minimum damage. If the grab BYU then go for three AAC schools, this board will look like the Afghani Airport. Every poster here is gonna be pimping their school to the AAC trying to get out of CUSA.

Many said that about the Big East. They were wrong. The Big East became the AAC and is still above all the other G5 conferences.

That was from The Athletic. BYU being an independent makes sense And could be a football only until Texas and Oklahoma leave.

Yeah, thought that was laughable too.

If the BIG12 goes to 12 teams would it not make sense for the AAC to go to 12? That means the AAC could potentially add 4-5 schools.

I was thinking of football.

The notion of P5 died when Texas and Oklahoma left.

The Big 12 remnants will be in a class above us, but make no mistake. Those clubs lost their privileged status.

Sure they can add BYU, Boise State, Houston and Cincinnati....but that league will not have anything close to guaranteed playoff access.

These changes are mostly expected to happen in 2025, so adding WVU for 2025 might help the ACC get a better deal? Don't care, just an idea.

Might happen, I guess... but if you were ESPN and had a major conference locked into a well below market contract for the next ten years, would you renegotiate for goodwill or do you take the ten years of inflated revenues? Keep in mind that ESPN is a subsidiary of The Mouse, as greedy a bunch as you'll ever see.
