All this is great. I want to see how it is at the end of the year. The schools that were ranked last year should have been but it was a weird year. I want to see if we get this new found respect after all the P5 schools are playing. They will suck up a lot of the pub we got last year. I hope we tear it up...good luck.

ESPN likes a good underdog story in the rankings though. I still remember Houston, ECU, Boise State, and Hawaii getting tons of media attention when they were having their big seasons.

Even though more P5's are playing again, ESPN will still talk about Coastal and Louisiana as long as they win.

Ethan Joyce is with the Winston-Salem Journal and also works the App State football beat or at least did up to last year. I assume that is still the case. He has CCU at 20 and UL at 21.

Sun Belt rivals No. 22 Coastal Carolina and No. 23 Louisiana-Lafayette are ranked in the preseason poll for the first time. It's the first time the conference has had any teams ranked in the preseason.

The conference must take these ‘honors’ and build on it. stAte isn’t good at doing that. We win at KSU, then fall on our face to finish the year. We gotta take this momentum and run with it.
