The Sun Belt Basketball tournament still stupidly exists, and a lesser football league like CUSA still has better bowl tie-ins where they can actually get P5 opponents while our teams are unable to get out of bowl contracts to get into a P5 bowl.

Out of all the nonsense about the commissioner, complaints about the less-than-exciting bowl lineup, and the unfairness of the CFP, the dumbest of the hot takes is this. Sponsorship money, media rights money/contract, tv exposure, tournament playing time, fan experience, and not looking busch league are just some of the more obvious reasons we still play a tournament.

You know what makes us look "busch league"? Sending a team with a losing conference record that got hot at the right time to a play-in game to lose to a team from a bottom-feeder conference. It's time to recognize the at-large bids for the mid-major leagues are gone and our tournament isn't a cash cow or any significant contributor to our media rights value.

And I do get this is more in the purview of individual member administrations/ADs, but the commish could at least lobby for a reduced tournament format.

One of the biggest problems we have in the Sun Belt is the teams playing in practically empty arenas, even when a good number of season-ticket holders fail to show up. But then, that's not the commissioner's fault.

You're happy about a middle of the pack commissioner?

It's also obvious some will defend him no matter what he does (or doesn't) do.

Ridiculous statement.

WDDITWAA. amirite?

Glad you're content with it. Some of us strive for more. You do you.

Then go join the Big 10. You knew what it was when your school transitioned from FCS.

we did? Was Gill the SBC commissioner when we joined?

No, some of you just biitch and complain. If you can't see the positive movement of the conference and its apparatuses then you need to open your dammed eyes.

Some people need to look up the definition of causation versus correlation.
