Once again, CUSA has chance to make some noise/gain national respect this year in FB
Here's a list of OOC games this year where CUSA has the opportunity to start gaining national respect:

Winnable/notable P5 matchups
Duke @ Charlotte 9/3
UTSA @ Illinois 9/4
La Tech @ Miss State 9/4
Indiana @ WKU 9/25
WKU @ Michigan State 10/2
Charlotte @ Illinois 10/2
La Tech @ NC State 10/2
North Texas @ Missouri 10/9

Winnable/notable G5 matchups
Marshall @ Navy 9/4
UTEP @ Boise State 9/10
WKU @ Army 9/11
UNT @ SMU 9/11
Rice vs Houston 9/11
Marshall vs ECU 9/18
La Tech vs SMU 9/18
USM vs Troy 9/18
Marshall @ App State 9/23
UAB @ Tulane 9/25
FAU @ Air Force 9/25
UTSA @ Memphis 9/25
UAB vs Liberty 10/2
MTSU @ Liberty 10/9
UNT vs Liberty 10/23

I'm sure I left some games off but judging from this, LT, WKU, UNT, & Marshall have a good bit of opportunities to gain some national respect with favorable P5/G5 matchups. How many of these games do you see CUSA winning this year?

I hope I’m wrong, but I see us winning one p5 game at best. Until we actually do so, I’m not going to predict that we just magically will.

Versus the G5, I’m going to say we get 7 wins. A lot of these games are definitely winnable, but many are 50/50 as far as I can tell.

I hope we do better than that, but based off this list that’s about what I see.

For some reason I keep getting an error message every time I try to bold this list....

Anyway, I think we could go 2-6 vs the P5 mentioned (wins against Duke and Illinois).

6-9 vs G5 mentioned (wins against Navy, ECU, Army, SMU, Memphis and Liberty)

Are you predicting that UTSA will pick up the Illinois win, or Charlotte will? Because if you think Charlotte is going to get two P5 scalps this year then you can join me in the irrationally optimistic club I belong to this time every year.

I don't see how wins over Duke and Illinois will get us any national respect.

They won’t. Unless we come out smashing everybody like the sun belt did last year. The wins have to come in large quantities, or against good teams, to really matter in the short run. And in the long run, the sun belt is still the sun belt this year.

Apologies to the rest of CUSA, but North Texas probably won't be contributing to the "wins over respectable teams" category this season. We may even take blowout losses.

I would LOVE if Littrell and Co. proved me wrong though. I would eat a full face of crow with a smile on my face.

Indiana will be a top 25 team unless they lose two of the first 3 games before playing Western. They will be a top 15 team if they come into BG at 3-0 with wins over 2 top 25 teams. Iowa and Cincinnati.

No matter if they are ranked or not if Western can get a win it will be better if they had just beat Cincinnati

I think Liberty is going to be a tough win this year. They were damn good last year and will likely be better this year. They’ve seemed to improve year over year since moving up. If I were betting, I’d put a little money in Marshall beating ECU. That’s an intriguing G5 matchup.

How close are y'all to cutting him loose? Paying big money to your HC is one sign of being serious about football, buying out a losing HC is just as strong, and often more important.

clt says an eCu fan will provide feedback if you donate $10 to their athletic program.

They will also settle for use of the Greenville Hospital emergency room to supplement their football program. Your choice.

Oh no…no no no. ECU is still a dead fish. In terms of a fairly regional matchup however, I am happy to see it played. My money is on Marshall, even though I have no idea what they are returning from last season.
