CLT cared enough to reply.

CLT is trying to get to a 5000 post count.

CLT has 10 times your reputation in 3 times your posts. I don't think he cares.

Actually if you added the post counts from my former names I’d have more posts and he would only have five times the reputation. Either way it was just a quip.

I'm gonna have to agree with this right here.

Rice saw in the WAC-16 that it was difficult for the high desert schools to come play at sea level on a muggy fall day. Same held true for the sea level teams going to altitude on a cold November day. BYU might have more trouble than they think.

To suggest they would run through every single year of CUSA is presumptuous.

We have had good teams rise up in the east and west on many occasions

It's not as if they would simply run through and win the division and conference every single year.

I guess he missed how C-USA teams totally dominated UMass, ULM, and Texas State last year. Not to mention the way Southern Miss beat Kentucky about 5 years ago.

USM is 38-37-2 against the ACC. Not very FCS of us.

What's your record in the current CUSA?

Not great, but it’s been really rough, coaching wise, since 2012. Hopefully, Hall will be the change we need. He’s saying the right things and seems to be recruiting far better than Hopson, but I guess we’ll have to wait until the Fall to truly know.

You live more in the past than a lot of USM fans. Sucks to be you, when that is the case

Is that counting schools that play in the ACC today but were CUSA when you beat them? If that's the case you need to revise those numbers because they were not ACC

I think they would have struggled to win CUSA in 2014-2017. It sure wouldnt have been easy, not with the offenses of Marshall, Western, FAU. The defense on those teams were not slouches

Marshall was ranked ahead of BYU in 2014 and Western in 2015 and while Western in 2016 was not in the top 25...top 30. Same goes for FAU in 2017

BYU
2017 4-9
2016 9-4 beat some P5 but struggle to win games again some G5
2015 9-4
2014 8-5 gave up 55 to Memphis in a bowl lost

Why is this even a thing?

Are sports so boring today that we have to make up "fantasy" scenarios to entertain ourselves?

In this hypothetical situation where BYU would agree to join as a football only would you be okay with adding BYU and Liberty as football only schools? It’s an easy add with one going to the East and one to the West. I think it would be beneficial to both those schools and CUSA because it gives BYU and Liberty a better chance at the playoffs and brings in a National brand. I think it would make sense.

ill pass on liberty. BYU has an extended track record of qualify. liberty has one good player and a coach. once they are gone you can judge how solid the program is.

Do they add anything to our per school media money? If yes, then sure. If no, then we have helped them but not us.

Which is a nice way to say:
Rice 27, BYU 14.
And a year later they were out.
