For anybody who doesn't know, "A Jersey Guy" is Mark Blaudschun, a sports reporter who not only wrote for the Boston Globe, but has some serious connections. He's the one who broke the story that the Catholic 7 were about to break away from the football members of the Big East.
Interestingly, Blaudschun has put up a new post, in which he still identifies Colorado State, San Diego State and Boise State as possible AAC expansion schools, but he doesn't provide any reason for listing those three schools, in particular.

Given the fact that he has often had the inside scoop on internal AAC developments, it's interesting that he has continued to list CSU, SDSU, and BSU as the three most likely expansion schools.

it was "newer" than his initial post.
It's interesting that he has continued to list CSU, SDSU, and BSU, in particular, which has suggested to some that he hasn't stepped back from his original hint that these might be the most likely schools to join the AAC.

Very plausible interpretation.
It makes sense to suggest that something is or has been going on. The timing was odd enough to cause some to suggest, at first, that the story might have been resulted from a leak of a developing story, but now it all seems to have been reeled back in.
Many people wrote that they considered the reporter credible, based on the fact that he broke some earlier stories. It would have been extremely odd for a savvy reporter to rehash an old story and imply that it was a developing story. It may be telling that he reeled everything back in except for the three schools, which he continues to list in preference to the others. He seems to be suggesting something by continuing to list them.
