I’m guessing there were a lot less people in and out of the Delaware house. The dog probably dealt with the same couple of household employees and the family.
Now it has the stress of moving (which a lot of dogs don’t like) and it went from dealing with a few people to a few hundred. And a GSDs baseline can be pretty wound up compared to say a lab.
Unfortunately, I acquired a german shepard when I married my wife. He was about 3 at the time and is now 8, though his demeanor and maturity have not changed much. He is well trained (her ex was a cop) but too hardheaded and undisciplined.
He was largely a house dog, used to being alone and indoors while she worked her shifts as a nurse, and when he was out is was a small backyard. She walked him a couple of miles a day, but he still had energy to spare.
He now has free range over about 100 acres, though stays within about a half mile of the house and has adapted well. His biggest faults are his constant yapping while we are outside with him, biting tires (bikes, golf carts, four-wheelers), biting weedeaters (I cured that one), and constantly wanting in or out. He's constantly at a 10 and I'd love to get him down to a 7 or 8. Hopefully he ages a bit faster in the next couple years.
The one surprising thing about him has been his herding instincts. It's not uncommon for some of our newborn calves to find their way out of the pasture and into the yard. On several occasions he rather gently moved them back to the correct pasture and even come to alert me if he couldn't get them back in the fence.

I mean... put it down? It is obviously a danger to others, and other dogs have been put down on the FIRST bite.
