UAB v Blaze
Was watching the replay of the Troy victory posted on Twitter and it's always seemed to me that we started seeing more and more "UAB" and less and less Blaze as we got closer to the shutdown. I know everyone remembers the car tag debacle. I wonder if that's just tinged thru history glasses, was a coincidence, or was deliberate.

That was also my understanding. The tag design that it replaced was the best one ever in my opinion.

It looks like every other Alabama college tag nowadays. I have a Jefferson State CC tag that is similar to that but a different color and logo.

This one I prefer 04-rock

RE: UAB v Blaze
As I recall, the NAS was asked by the state for a design that would permit 6 or 7 characters/digits which meant a smaller Blaze figure. They went all the way to eliminate Blaze entirely which was not popular among our fans. Why the NAS ever thought that was a good idea is beyond me, but I always thought we could have both needs met by some artistic effort. A. few suggested tags were drawn by folks on BlazerTalk, but nothing changed.
