NVE, Erik Martin as former players?

What is Brannen alleged to have done or not done?

Second tier: Erik Martin, Archie Miller, Porter Moser, Pat Kelsey, Casey Alexander

Pitino has as much chance to be hired at UC to be HC while Pinto Bean is here as I do.

I'd have to review the other up and comers. No thanks on Archie Miller.

Ok...I'm all ears...please make a rational argument for why Nick Van Exel should be considered? Literally one RATIONAL statement about why someone should be a head basketball coach for a large college team...that's all I ask.

Yeah...investigating a firing a coach for player welfare issues, then hiring a guy who choked a player through a car window isn't the best look in the world.

He shouldn't be hired but I do find it odd how much people want to disregard that he has actual coaching experience at the NBA level and he is a bearcat legend. He'd probably land some decent recruits too.

I want NVE to eventually work his way into the HC of a low major program so we can see if he has any coaching chops at the college level.

Bryce Drew i was thinking as well, but my guess is Archie would be a better fit given his IU experience and recruiting ties.

He was a scouting assistant for 3 years with Memphis and a practice coach for two years before that with a one year stint for a G-League team (which literally hasn't had a team run a play in a decade). That's barely enough to get him hired to coach for a MEAC team IMO.

Why was Drew so bad at Vandy?

My first pick would be Miller, then Martin. I wouldn't be completely against NVE if some solid assistants are brought on board. Not interested in the mid major guys being named.

I bet Archie would bring over an IU transfer or two. My first reaction was negative due to his brother's close ties to Xavier, but the idea of him taking over is growing on me.

We should be following the Fickell blueprint for this hire.

I think his last year was marred by major injuries. I've heard a lot of people say he got a raw deal at Vandy. I don't know specifics though. What I don't like is that he made the NCAA his first year, then bombed his 2nd year without losing much production from the year before. He did pull in some big recruits though.

I agree but it's more experience than Penny Hardaway and Juwan Howard had.

I don’t know he pulled in some great recruits but his record was really bad in those two years.

But he was great at Valpo and instantly took Grand Canyon to the tournament this year. I’m pretty sure he wanted the job when Mick left a couple of years ago too.
