NCAA thoughts
So
Creighton 5 seed vs UCSB and Virginia with Gonzaga waiting. Ouch
Villanova 5 seed vs Winthrop and Purdue with Baylor waiting. Ouch
UConn 7 seed vs Maryland and Alabama, with Texas lurking. by far the best path(and it's not easy at all)
Georgetown 12 seed vs Colorado and Florida St with Michigan waiting. Ouch

not easy at all. getting 2 wins may be about tops.

RE: NCAA thoughts
Don't understand all the love for UCSB, they've beaten nobody this year. I think Virginia is beatable as well. Gonzaga will be tough though.

I've got Nova beating Winthrop but losing to Purdue. Tough going without Gillespie.

I'm obviously a homer but I have UConn in the Elite 8 lol. I think we can handle Maryland. No idea if we'll beat Bama but I know we've got a legitimate shot. I actually have MSU making it to the sweet 16 and if it's us vs them I really like our chances. Michigan will be incredibly tough, however. I think our run will end there if we make it that far.

So I've got us for 6 wins vs your 2, haha. I may be a little homerish but I think you're being too conservative. Ironically, 4 actually seems pretty likely to be the number imo. Would be smack dab in the middle of our projections. We'll see!

RE: NCAA thoughts
4-4 would acceptable for the BE this tourney. 5-4 would be solid. 6-4 would be a pleasant surprise. Seven or more wins would be huge.

Whoops, I completely forgot about Georgetown lol. I have them beating Colorado but losing to FSU. So I guess I've got 7 wins lol.

I agree, I want 4 wins at minimum. Anything more is gravy

Was pretty confident WSU and MSU would get 2 wins each (including their "play in" games.) Whoops lol. Had MSU going to the sweet 16 03-lmfao

Don't see first weekend Mick taking UCLA on a tourney run but maybe he finally gets the monkey off his back

I actually find Mick a likeable man (enjoyed having him coach Cincinnati) and wish him well at UCLA. I watched the last eight minutes or so and the OT. Good win for the Bruins.

Michigan St sure fell apart didn't they?

Wichita St probably was the better team- just could never put them away. Can't tell you how many games I've coached in youth basketball just like that- you let a team hang around and then at the end it bites you in the you know what.

Yeah I've got nothing against Mick either. But the narrative he can't get past the round of 32 is totally valid. Wish him well (particularly this season) as well! Need them in the Sweet 16 for my bracket lol

Yeah I'm bummed about WSU. I haven't thought Drake was a good team all season and it looked like WSU was going to expose them last night. As you said, they let them hang around and bad things happened. Wish AG had taken another dribble or two before launching that deep shot

Agree, S20. A semi-collapse by Michigan State.

I did not see the WSU-Drake game but Nameless' point is well made. Put a team away when you can — or risk losing. Also, I agree, Nameless, about Mick not winning big in the tourney. That's not helping his otherwise very solid reputation.

I saw a couple Boneyarders upset with the weak Big 10 talk. Good luck!
