Happy Texas Independence Day!
Today is Texas Independence Day! Texas delegates declared independence from Mexico in a move that lead the US to move from a regional power to a coast to coast world power. Texicans declared independence at Washington on the Brazos while Colonel Travis and 182 brave men were holed up in the Alamo delaying the advance of the Mexican army.

Probably not a coincidence that Gov. Abbot declared Texas open today.

RE: Happy Texas Independence Day!
A little known fact about Texas history is that they wanted independence from Mexico because Mexico insisted that Texans learn Spanish and become Catholic.

And the Mexicans shredded the Constitution of 1824 and installed a dictator, moved the Capitol 1000 miles away to Coahuila and jailed people for merely making petitions to the government.
