Olivari's shot remains very off. 7-4 SMiss early.

12-9 Rice early. Night and day difference between playing a defense like UNT and SMiss. Both teams getting a bunch of clean looks.

Pretty much a phantom foul on Fiedler.

Havsa in the game. So looks like he's healthy but Mullins is still out.

21-16 Rice. Offense is clicking early. Inability to penetrate from the guard spot hasn't hurt us this year except for against better defensive teams.

First time I heard he was a Covid issue. I thought he had gotten hurt in the first of two on the road in I think El Paso.

And...Olivari has found his shot. His third 3 in a few minutes pushes the lead to 31-18.

34-20 Rice. We've missed a bunch of good looks but our defensive effort has been sharp.

37-27 Rice at the half. Pretty sloppy end to the half, probably not coincidentally starting when Olivari went to the bench. Need to be sharper in the second and hit more of our good looks.

Olivari picks up his 3rd foul with 17:39 left and Rice up 10. Thought it was a soft call especially since he didn't get the benefit of a call with more contact two minutes earlier.

Well that was cringe worthy - "wouldn't be surprised if Tommy McGhee was a coach now."

8 FTs for S Miss already this half. About half of which were soft calls.

56-38 Rice. A few really good minutes from Havsa. He's very effective when he plays within himself. Great job to extend the lead with Olivari sitting.

Solid passing from Havsa. Poteat pretty solid defensively for a freshman, uses his size well and moves his feet.

Kind of surprised that there wasn’t any carry over for S Miss after losing by only 3 at La Tech ladt Saturday.
