16 team - 1 VALID National Champion. I will update again after this weekends championships and new rankings.
What could be...
1 - Alabama (SEC Champ)
16 - Marshall (CUSA Champ)
8 - Georgia (at-large)
9 - Cincinnati (AAC Champ)
5 - Texas A&M (At-large)
12 - Coastal Carolina (Sun Belt Champ)
4 - Ohio State (Big 10 Champ)
13 - Southern Cal (Pac 12 Champ
6 - Iowa State (Big 12 Champ)
11 - Indiana (at large)
3 - Clemson (At-large)
14 - San Jose State (MTN West Champ)
7 - Florida (At-large)
10 - Oklahoma (At-Large)
2 - Notre Dame (ACC Champ)
15 - Buffalo (MAC Champ)
I don't like it. 4 SEC teams? I am afraid that is exactly how it would play out too.
7 SEC teams wouldn't bother me if the 6 best available at-large teams are all from the SEC. But it is unlikely that more than 2 or in a rare season 3 of the 6 at-large teams would ever be from the same conference.

As I said in the original post the seeds are based on the CFP rankings and if teams are not ranked in the CFP Top 25 I used the AP poll. I awarded the conf championships based on who was the higher ranked team.
How did that work out for you?

That is an interesting point though I doubt it. However it would open up the playing field for recruits over time and allow for a far more balanced sport. The cream would still rise but it def wouldn’t be based on the biased segregative good ole boy system in place now.

How did it work out for me?? It appears you’re attempting to be witty... I had to pick winners so I based it on rankings. I also made it clear I would update after this weekends conf championships and CFP rankings.
Seems you got triggered by a hypothetical playoff.

RE: How a 16 team VALID playoff would look.
So now, in this make-believe scenario, it's UAB vs. Bama. Has those two ever played before? And, what would the reaction be in Alabama about such a matchup? Yeah, of course, Bama/SEC/Power 5 fans will all be hollering "this is gonna be a slaughter!" But, beyond that, what would the reaction be from fans in general and the local media?
Here in Louisiana, in a similar situation if ULL or Tech were to be paired with LSU in a 16-team playoff, there would be very little interest, because the over-whelming assumption would be an easy win for LSU, not worthy of even thinking about the game. I suppose the only exception would be if ULL or Tech was ranked and considered legit, and LSU fans knew they were over-rated, there would be some nervousness expressed.

Do you know how much UAB fans would love a shot at UAT? I imagine we would be seeded 15 due to lobbying from a certain school. This is a nice bracket. The playoffs should expand.
