Report: Nearly 90% of Christian Schools Opened Academic Year with In-Person Instruction

Quote:A report released by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) demonstrates that 90 percent of Christian schools opened the 2020-2021 academic year with in-person instruction as planned, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Quote:ACSI observed that, according to the survey, the Christian schools’ reopening plans placed safety first as coronavirus modifications were implemented with guidance from medical personnel, states, and local health departments.

“Most schools reported zero to minimal disruption from the spread of coronavirus in their school community,” ACSI reported.

I do the books for a local church and its small school (K-12). They've been open all year. They offer a home-based option where students dial in to the classroom. A few families choose this option but the vast majority attend in-person.

Oh, one more note...

Quote:In addition, most of the Christian schools noted either steady or increased enrollment during the pandemic period.

“Even though many schools reported minimal enrollment losses, over 80% reported that they gained students they might not have if it was not for the virus,” ACIS explained, adding that more than a third of the schools surveyed experienced increases in enrollment between the opening of school and mid-November.

Our local news featured St Xavier High School...
they implemented all of the standard protocols for in-person instruction to protect students and faculty and have had ZERO in school Covid transmission to date.
It can be done.

You explained it in your OP. "small school"

Most all of these are. Making it much easier to actually distance. Smaller crowd, less chance of spread. You know, science.

Saint Xavier has a student enrollment of over 1500.
Hardly a "small school."
You know, "facts."

The two favorite words of the progressive kooks, "science" and "racism". And virtually every time they vomit them up they have little to nothing to do with science or race. Most of the time when they use them they are denying science or engaging in racism themselves.

They have done an excellent job of making both words almost meaningless when used.

My eldest daughter's high school has had 9 cases total since opening. My youngest daughter's elementary school has had 1 case. If you just give the teachers the tools and trust them, they do well.

Yes. It can be done.
The problem now is many union teachers now prefer teaching remotely because it's easier so they are fighting returning to the classroom.
Locally our private Catholic schools are in-classroom but not Cincinnati Public.

RE: Christian Schools in Classroom
In my county the private schools have been doing well. There's been the occasional case where the school went virtual but then resumed in person a couple days later. IMO, it's the teachers not wanting to deal with disciplinary issues in the public schools. No in person teaching, no discipline to deal with. In my son's school there are 20 teachers that simply aren't teaching, took some sort of COVID related leave. Weird thing is the schools are are ALL virutal, so they are scared of teaching and catching COVID while virtually teaching FROM THEIR HOUSE. Tells me all I need to know.

I understand that some high schools have well over 1,000 in their graduating class.

The private Christian high school I attended had over 560 in our graduating class. So not "every" school is small. Some have quite a few students.

There are several large private Christian schools in Memphis.

And for a leftist to even mutter the term "science" these days is laughable.

Yep Indiana U tested 70,000 students, in classroom students 2% positive, remote learners 8%. You know science.

It won't matter, his brain processes what most of us see a certain way as something completely different.

If the Dems had their way, all private Christian schools would be shuttered anyway.
