RE: UTSA vs. SMU in Frisco Bowl on December 19
So, is it true SMU cancelled the Frisco Bowl, and now UTSA will be playing in the First Responders Bowl?

While there's definitely a bias among bowl committees toward choosing P5 teams, a 4-6 team shouldn't be getting consideration regardless of what kind of program they are.
So it sounds like you are not in favor of 4-5 UNT getting a bid to the Myrtle Beach bowl? For the record, neither am I. Nobody under .500 should be invited to a bowl until everyone over .500 is offered first, with a minimum number of games played too.
It gets a bit more complicated with bowl tie-ins and such, which may be part of the reason some more deserving teams get left out, but yeah, we're in agreement.
I totally agree that we have no business in a bowl game. And, I feel bad that more deserving teams could be left out of the bowl season. We don't even have a winning record in conference play. But, a bowl invited us, and we get to play against one of the better G5 programs over the last few seasons. We would have been stupid to turn it down.
