Very complimentary of Ridder. Thanks for the link!

72) Denver Broncos: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
Is anyone sold on Drew Lock? If Lock doesn’t turn the corner quickly; as a result, the Broncos will have to start thinking about a contingency plan. Desmond Ridder is a player whose 2021 draft prospectus is on the rise, as he has an arsenal of traits that will have NFL front offices salivating.

3rd round isn’t worth coming out early for. They tell you third but what if it’s 5th? Small signing bonus, you don’t pan out and before you know it you’re in the cubicle next to Ol’ Dannyboy.

3rd Round draft picks receive a 4 year contract with a yearly salary between $818,000 and $914,000 in this year's draft.

Tell me again why that isn't worth it, especially at a position that won't be cut in year one. Ridder's draft ceiling is probably 2nd round...so do you risk all the negative to POTENTIALLY make another $100,000-$200,000 or just make the same with one year less playing potential?

We literally just saw a kid leave last year (Warren) who was graded as a 7-UDFA and he has made a little over $140,000 this past year. You think that was worth it for him? Thats 3 year's worth of the average salary of a college graduate.

Ridder already has his degree, and any experience in the Pros would probably go a long way to helping him in turning his SPORTS MANAGEMENT DEGREE into a job. I'm sure I wouldnt mind being your cubicle neighbor if I had an $818,000 salary for one year when I was 22.

I believe Ridder also has a kid or a kid coming. If there's a chance he goes in the third round (and QBs tend to rise, not fall) then he is gone.

The question is, who then leads us to the playoffs next year? Bryant or Prater?

If he is going in the 3rd round he should come out early. I am shocked he is that high but happy for him. Next man in hopefully Ben Bryant.

The bonus is the most important factor if you don’t pan out. And what if it’s 5th round instead of third?

As for his ceiling, I’m not sure we know that yet. He’s gotten significantly better this year and that could continue. Warren was totally different as he had peaked.

That's why he is getting the grades he is...he has a very high ceiling.

3rd round? Good for Ridder but I don’t see it at all.

If the season ended today I see more rounds 4-7 and TBH a 6th round pick. Upside that has not yet shown the ability to play in the NFL. Would love for him to prove me wrong. A deep ball is a must have in that game. So is hitting receivers in stride consistently. The windows are also much tighter.

Chuba Hubbard one pick ahead Ridder. No chance

That’s only one guys picks it appears. I feel like much of his hype is due to stats. I’d be interested to see an article analyzing his game film that includes strengths and weaknesses from a legit scout.

Jalen Hurts dinking and dunking and using his legs well today in Philadelphia helps guys like Ridder if it keeps up.

Hurts 1st half as a starter in the NFL against the 10-2 Saints...12-21 for 129 yards and a TD plus 7 rushes for 75 yards. Kind of stats a guy like Ridder should hope NFL front offices notice.

Modern ball control offense...Taysom Hill has been doing right about the same thing up until this game, and Russell Wilson made his bones doing that early in his career too.

RE: Ben Bryant enters the transfer portal
I keep telling everyone that scouts are going to have him higher than a lot of us. He has NFL size, arm, and has speed/athleticism. There are a lot of tools to like as a scout if you believe you can develop him and he will likely be drafted for his tools and potential, not as a finished product.

I do think the 3rd RD is a little high right now, but if he performs well in the CCG and in the bowl game it will definitely help his stock. Also if he can have a good outing throwing in a controlled environment it will help as that’s where a lot of the questions are.
