Fan Cutouts
Curious who else signed up for this and if you have any feedback...

Let me preface by saying I'm happy to support the athletic department regardless of what they provide in return. But because this is a message board that maybe the AD secretly frequents, I'll take a minute to vent and mention the whole experience was... lacking.

First, the Reds began doing cutouts back in the summer. The fact UC only officially launched their campaign a couple weeks ago seems second rate. They could have had details finalized in October if they really wanted.

Execution-wise, I uploaded all 6 of our photos over a week before the game and haven't received a head's up that they were placed in the arena. Is there a collection of photos somewhere where you can browse through to see what is located where?

And adding a t-shirt for each purchase was a nice touch, but all of the t-shirts were XL and that crappy Gildan brand.

On one hand, I'm thrilled the AD tried something "new" to generate revenue. I just have a sinking feeling it's not going to get much better based on what we're seeing. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.

I would've purchased one for football if they made them available

I hope, whatever the cost, the University allows the maximum number of fans allowed by the state into the AAC conference championship game in two weeks.

I'd even fudge a bit and let some extras in for free.

You've got that right; those who want to attend within state guidelines should be welcomed for the championship. Our fans deserve the opportunity at least and can decide on their own whether they feel comfortable being a part of it.

Regarding the cutouts, I'd like to know who would have wasted their money on one of Pete Gillen, shown on the ESPN telecast yesterday alongside Bob Huggins?

RE: Fan Cutouts
I generally have positive feedback for the AD on the cutouts. If you go to this tweet (https://twitter.com/GoBearcatsTIX/status...3852686336) they do a pan along those placed on the side of the arena opposite the current benches (where the benches were located pre-COVID). The ticket office also mentions that they'll email everyone a picture of their cutouts this week, although it's not clear on the details around that.

My main criticism is related the fact that these should've been rolled out for football season as well. I get the issues around Nippert's location on campus, how basically anyone can access it, but given the potentially revenue and increase in fan engagement, I'm surprised they couldn't have found a way to put them up on game days and store them somewhere between games. Or, put up temporary fencing during the week.

Also, sorta odd that they only allowed for really tight windows last Thursday and Friday to pick up t-shirts, the only other opportunity being "sometime" in the Spring unless you want to pay $5 shipping.

But, otherwise, I've been very pleased with the roll out as it specifically relates to basketball season.

RE: Fan Cutouts
Once I found my daughter’s cutout from the twitter video, I could easily spot her the whole game. I paid the $5 to have my shirt shipped because it was worth not having to drive up there.

My only gripe is the “benefits” associated with the ticket/UCATS donation. If you donate both then you receive a tour and meet and greet with the staff. Easy decision for those only tied to a $500-$600 donation. Not as easy when you are looking at $3200.

We submitted photos of Vincent Banks & Hernol Hall. It’s like playing Where’s Waldo.

What Pete and Bob want to do with their money is up to them. Pete feels this is the hoops program he would rather watch in Cincinnati. Bob obviously pines for his old stomping grounds. Both are lost souls brought together by UC hoops.

RE: Fan Cutouts
I am pretty sure UC couldn't do cutouts for football because they were sharing Nippert with FC Cincinnati.
It would've been a huge pain to have to put them in and take them out depending on who was playing.
Do hope they allow fans up to the max the AAC will allow for the Championship game. We have seen plenty of teams host fans safely. Nippert can do it too.
