In my case, it is usually triggered when I disagree on some policy designed to counter discrimination with other discrimination, like reparations or Affirmative Action.

Democrats didn't send their very best because they don't have a very best. All they cared about was assembling a ticket that could win electoral votes. Ability to govern was not a consideration.

Democrats choose ideas and candidates based upon what will attract enough sheep to vote for them. Whether those ideas and candidates are good for the country is something about which they are indifferent.
