I just donated (law school). There is also a link at the bottom if you want to give to athletics.

The ability to donate ends this evening.

Donated. If you can do any amount, consider it. If they get 2,000 donors there is a $400,000 match. They currently need 973 more donors.

I am donating $10,000 restricted only for the purchase of hot dogs. I should restrict it even further that STF can’t eat any for lunch or else my donation would be used up in a week.

If you can afford it, create a fully endowed tube-steak fund. Then we can finally move on from the issue. COGS

I'll base my contribution on the number of fumbles committed by the offense. Should be significant.

The problem is that you asked them to replace the PigDog with a statue of you. That’s why I donated to the Keep the PigDog fund. However, I did donate a few thousand for them to do a beautiful statue of you standing at the urinal trough! I told them to embellish it a bit.

I just donated and broke our gift in half, with one from me to my college and one from my wife to hers. That way, it counts as two gifts.

We are currently at 1,985 donations. We can get a $400,000 matching gift if we hit 2,000 donations. Here's hoping... 2hrs 20 minutes left. Looking good!

Embellishment is a good thing. As long it's placed next to your statue of you at the urinal while eating a hotdog.

As a reminder, whenever you order through Amazon make sure you rider through "Amazon Smile", which gives a portion of your purchase price to a charity. Mine is the NIU Foundation.
The way my wife orders from Amazon we should have a domed stadium by next year.

RE: NIU Thousands Strong
It is great that NIU had so much success with the giving day but they are way behind the fundraising curve. Illinois State just concluded a seven year campaign that raised over $180 million and had over 50,000 donors participate. Before the campaign Illinois States endowment was about the size of NIUs and now its almost double.

NIU needs to continue attacking the market with these types of giving events. A lot of successful people have attended NIU and the school needs to continue building that network and making inroads with them to give back.

2 Million is awesome for a 28-hour fundraiser, way to go NIU. Absolutely right though, they need to do a 4-year endowment fundraising project, call it The Quest for 100 or something (we need to cross that 100 mil mark ASAP, embarrassing). Guessing maybe you need a large anchor donation in the works to kick one of those fundraisers off and none have surfaced recently?

RE: NIU Thousands Strong
NIU has been trying to launch a capital campaign for several years. It just keeps getting delayed. We should be hearing more in 2021. The original plan was to raise $350 million.

https://www.niu.edu/board/_pdf/meetings/...-18-20.pdf

Overview of the original plan from 2017. Interesting breakdown of potential donor capacity.
