I tried to post there and it told me I was using the wrong password. I fired off a couple of emails to Kev to see what was up. I can't believe one little simpleton like that Lee character would beat Kev.

In case you're wondering, that's a pic of USC's first ever varsity football team.

I had started a thread over there bemoaning the "SILLY" rookie posters and how they were ruining the board, and it got deleted within a few hours...

I also e-mailed Kev about the ridiculous crap going on over there, and I got a "failed delivery" message in my e-mail, saying that it didn't go through, for whatever reason...

Maybe Kev's finally just fed up with all the BS...

BTW,....those are some cool emoticons you got there, Bronc....where did you get them? (or better yet, what's the code... )

Just went back to AST, now all the threads are gone. I didn't get an error on the email I sent to Kev but I haven't gotten a reply either. Hopefully hs is regrouping and will be back.

I emailed him also, still waiting on a response. I hope he does something because Deac, C-1, Stock, myself and others were setting up an AST/NBO golf tourny.

The mods said if we bring over our profile from AST, they would add the number of post we made on AST to the number we already had here. I only had about 20 or so post before that added my AST posts

Doesn't look like it, Drake. Looks like Kev pulled the posts from each forum, one by one...with "general sports" being the last.

If it were server problems, I'd think we wouldn't even be able to get to the site at all.

I figured something like that would happen eventually. The first signs of trouble on the board were about a year or so ago when some jerk called "peanut vendor" started posting and starting arguments with everyone in sight. It's gradually gotten worse and worse ever since.......and even some of the longtime posters have gotten more touchy in the last few months. Finally, I had just had enough. (I had been told, I don't know how many times, "if you don't like it here.....LEAVE".......so I guess I took that advice to heart! It seemed all I did was upset people and get them angry......which is not what I wanted. Of course if you say that, you're lambasted for being too "sensitive" and taking things "personally." OK.....whatever.). I know some think that by shutting the board down the crummy posters "win" somehow......I disagree. Those folks live off of other people's misery.........now what are they gonna do? Go step on some butterflies for s%*#$ and giggles?

Maybe Kev is in the process of making some major changes. I hope so........if not, I hope he'll at least post a message at the forum's old address to let us know what's up. When you live outside of Columbia, message forums become more important because sometimes, that's the only way I can find out what's going on in Cola town.

In any case, the AST board as it was is not missed.........at least not by yours truly.

My advice to Kevin is: get an "ignore" function in operation. IMO, that solves everything. OW, I'll never return to All Sports Talk. And I'm not one just to blow smoke.........I mean that sincerely. Thankfully, this board came along.....:D..or I'd've never returned to any forum period.

Looks like Kev nuked the place, & is starting over. Can't say I blame him.

you will always have a home here - I was fortunate enough to have some down time - did a yahoo search - and WHAMMO! here I am.

If you go to page two (of threads) on the Gamecock area - you can follow the post history of me here. My first post is "new gamecock here" or something like that. I was greeted by a Mississippi fan first, 10MAN within minutes - then it snowballed from there. There is a great environment over here. Admins and Moderators are posting along with the members and we all get along fine. I hope Keven gets his stuff together and at least posts an explanation - I doubt it - but that's his area.

I will not be raptorcox over at AST anyway - my ISP went belly up and I had to get another e-mail address. I had been posting as raptorcoxx but I'm sure not going to be there as that now, I'm sure.

Some of the old threads are slowly returning, including the recent garbage. I'm sure an explanation's soon to follow, but I think Kev's making a mistake be bringing up some of the trash I thought he took out.
