Power Rankings 11/1
Some shakeup in the middle this week. Still see 3 groups of teams—- 3 at the top, 5 in the middle, and 2 at the bottom.
Here is how I see it
1. App St. Still put them here until someone knocks them off
2. Coastal. Having a dream season so far.
3. Louisiana. A very good team who probably plays Coastal or App for the championship
Gap then GS, Ga St, Troy, Ark St and USA in some order. I put it this way
4. Troy. Having a good year notwithstanding loss to Ga St
5. GA Southern.Big offensive questions but still 4-2.
6. Ga State. Terrible game vs Coastal but still a good offensive team
7. Ark St. Falling fast. Something has gone haywire there.
8, South Alabama. Improved from last year but still losing winnable games
Then the bottom 2
9. Texas St. Promising year has turned south
10. ULM. Just a bad team

Seems about right
4,5,6 can be in about any order if you ask me. The next game GS vs Troy will answer a lot of questions here anyway.

Coastal comes in at #16 in the USAToday Coaches Poll. Highest Sun Belt ranking ever. One spot behind Marshall.

#15 in the AP Poll, on spot ahead of Marshall. (Liberty sneaks in at #25.)

RE: Power Rankings 11/1
Just looking ahead, way ahead, I know...
IF we all get help from Cincy losing a game or their CCG (IMO, they won’t), for arguments‘ sake...
Can App St win out and pass Marshall (who I think will also win out), the team that beat them, for the top G5 spot?
Can Louisiana win out, in the best case scenario beating Top 15 ranked Coastal in attempt #2, and pass Marshall?
Are we in agreement that if Coastal wins out, the presumed wins over App St and Louisiana again, would be more than enough to propel Coastal ahead of Marshall in both polls?
Just curious to thoughts...

As a Cajun fan I can see CC passing Marshall if they win out. I'm okay with CC winning out if it brings needed revenue to the conference. JMO

In the CFP rankings, yes. You would definitely be ahead of Marshall based on strength of schedule.

I believe each conference that sends a participant to a non-playoff NY6 bowl, gets $4 million.

RE: Power Rankings 11/1
I'm still wondering how the CFP is going to split the revenue this year.
It's possible we finish ahead of the MWC this year and just behind the AAC in the rankings. So does the SBC get paid based off of that? Or will the MWC/MAC/Pac-12/Big 10 say "no fair" since they didn't play OOC games?
It only seems fair to reward the conferences that chose to push through COVID and play.

Yeah don’t know how how you keep GS below USA. Our defensive front 7 is just as good as anyone I. The conference and will keep the team in a game. Secondary is coming back around too now that we have our Starting safety back and our young dbs getting more experience. At a minimum they’re better than USA and ULM.

It's pretty simple. GS was an outstretched arm away from being ULM's only win. USA beat ULM soundly, along with every team ULM has played not named GS.

We were an outstretched arm better than ULM and 7 points better than south. So it shouldn’t matter how well south beat your team, we beat both of y’all. Our only losses coming from ranked opponents.

RE: Power Rankings 11/1
Tier 1
1. App- Playing well and noticeably plenty of room for improvement. Probably the most all around experienced, talented, and deep in the conference.
2. Coastal- Great year, great team but until the beat App my concern is they have already shown their cards. The key to an undefeated season is keeping some form of mystery. I'm not sure Coastal has that much still unshown.
3. UL Great Team. Just happen to be the third placed team of the top tier that consists of 3 if not for anything else other than you've lost a conference game and you've had multiple close wins in conference (especially that Georgia State game)
Tier 2
4. GS- Decent team that could give anyone trouble but not quite good enough to be in the top tier as you've shown by losing to Coastal and UL.
5. USA- Had Georgia Southern and Tulane on the ropes, just couldn't pull it off. Tulane is a bad loss but not worse than Troy losing to Georgia State.
6. Troy- Decent record. Decent team. You haven't beaten a quality opponent yet and you lose to Georgia State which in my opinion is a worse loss than USA's worst loss.
Tier 3
7. StAte- Spiraling downward but you beat GSU head to head so I'll give you the nod between the 2.
8. GSU- Lost to ASU head to head so I'm putting you behind them.
Tier 4
9. Texas State- Improving but just not enough depth to jump into the next tier quite yet. Still, better than ULM.
10. ULM- No explanation needed.

I like this. Still think until App is beat they are on top, but the way CC is playing, they will do so. Until then, a tie is about right. And UL is nipping at at heels of both of them.
