Our setup is better than all but 25 or so P5 programs. Keep in mind, that with cancellations and the Big Ten and PAC12 not playing, there was room for mid and bottom level P5 programs to get network exposure that they aren't used to. I chose the top 3 teams in the AAC and compared them to 3 random middle of the road to poor teams in the ACC, $EC and Big 12.

So the reality is that being in the top 3 in the AAC is infinitely better than being a mid to lower level P5 school. Moving forward with the Big Ten and PAC12 resuming play, these mid and lower level programs are going to be relegated to FS2, ESPN News, ESPN U or worse, at the expense of 25 P5 programs and the cream of the crop of the AAC.
When you take a deeper look at it, most of their network and ESPN/ESPN2 games are going to be against really good competition, so most viewers will see them losing most of these games. That was the main source of resistance when we were going to go to the Big 12. Programs like Iowa State, Kansas, Texas Tech, TCU and West Virginia knew that more of their games were going to be buried on obscure networks or not even shown at all except locally.
Our game Saturday will be on ESPN will mean that 3 of our first 5 games will be on ESPN or better and 4 out of our first 5 games will be on ESPN2 or better. Our game against Arkansas State was played on ESPN with no competition. That is pretty remarkable.
Our setup isn't an embarassment at all; all things considered, it is amazing.
