I still think my favorite flyover was the two Apaches...I can't remember what game, but I think it was either '07 or '08. So friggin cool to watch those things just hover and fly around the stadium for a solid half minute or so.

Flyovers are almost always coordinated as part of training missions or routine patrols/flights. You may waste some fuel to divert over the stadium, but it's not significant in most cases. That said, there's no point flying over almost empty stadiums.

Flyovers are used and expensed as training. That's typically what bombers do.

Meh, this is just another form of "locker room talk"

I wouldn't begin to assume his political beliefs based on this. I agree with poster above. It sounds more like they were mocking people who would be offended by this than actually offended

I was initially miffed that them..but..after hearing this Im pretty sure that the only thing they were questioning is why do it over an empty stadium. I think the Biden/Harris comment by Troy may even have been a slam at them and their patriotism. Ill give them a pass on this considering the circumstances and the fact that Troy has been a open Republican for quite a while.

My favorite flyover in person was at Dowdy Ficklen in Greenville a few years ago. A Blackhawk came up from behind the stadium behind me suddenly and flew close enough to the upper deck that you could feel the rotor wash and heat from it. It scared the schit out of me at first. Those things are truly an incredible work of engineering.

Years ago at work, one of the guys knew a military pilot and arranged for them to bring an Apache and a Blackhawk over. Landed in the field not 50 meters from the building. Way cool. Could FEEL the womp womp of those rotors in your chest.

Only stupid people that don't understand why we have such outstanding pilots that show their skills in war as in the Iraq war. It takes a lot of flying hours to maintain proficiency. It's not like driving your car. You need to maintain flying and navigational skills. I worked at an airport for 30 years, four in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic (T-37s, T-38s and EB-66s) and about eight in the Navy Reserve. All were airplane related that's why I know how much practice is needed to fly those babies. Only ignorant people can't grasp that idea of flying hours. I can't tell you how many times I saw C-130s (and others) do touch and go's at our airport.

For those two idiots (and I'm a 'boys fan) to say such a stupid thing is ignorance. Now, I know the level of their common sense which is nil. One, that they think the floosie and the senile old man are better than Trump and that insult to our military.

I've never been a Troy fan personally but I do think he's a good commentator, I'll give him that much. At least I know he's not smart now.

There was a stealth flyover at a UC game . It was eery because you didn't hear it until it was overhead and then it was a big black shape in the sky.

If you were able to see it then it wasn't a Stealth. *wink*
