The most remarkable thing I got out of this thread - I watched the video and read the comments and there, out of the blue, was a tweet from Bob Dole. I had no idea he was still alive, but there he was with a blue checkmark and everything.

I saw him speak at a local chamber meeting almost 20 years ago and he was great.

Yes he is. But sadly, he now represents the mainstream of the Democratic Party. The mainstream of each party used to acknowledge that both parties were trying to do what’s best for the nation—-they just had different visions of how Get there. It was ok if we disagreed. As I said before and this video confirms—we are rapidly moving toward a place where the first line of the Declaration Of Independence will become relevant again.
