I thought NBA recently changed course & said 2021 season will start after January 1? NHL isn't a problem b/c they don't have a deal w/ ESPN
Fans could be a thing. High school has em in Ohio. The B1G will too. We've got time to make that call. Plus 2,200 fans on a 20 degree day is on par for most of our teams anyway.

I thought Michigan's governor was vague enough, that nothing is ruled out... We got rid of football then came back? I wouldn't be surprised if a B1G state or a title game had fans in some fashion. I did read the September 16th release not allowing public to games though.
According to the debate tonight, Trump is the reason the B1G has football at all! We all owe him our taxes now to cover his sorry, this is probably bannable.

Cheers to the Red States that had initiated the opening up process
Anyways, yes, it did cross my mind the switch to Saturdays halfway thru, they might be planning on wanting fans........Fingers crossed

RE: Sources: MAC to Meet about Possible Fall Football
I am glad there will be some MAC football to watch, but only 6 games? Seems almost at the "why bother" level.
Honestly, I think I would rather have had a more full, less covid-restricted, season in the spring. Particularly if there would still be some conferences playing in the fall, so effectively there would be two college football seasons. I also follow Army, so it would have been kind of cool having the double dip.
I also hate how junior varsity this process made the MAC look. First they take this (in my mind fictitious) safety stance, and cancelled, only to later (like the B10, P10) concede that their 'principles" had no substance to begin with when they decide to follow the real leaders (SEC, ACC, B12) and play football, even though nothing has realty changed in terms of "the covid danger". football players will get covid, just like they get the regular flu, colds, bugs, and sometimes they will feel pretty sick, other times not really symptoms at all. But "the science", and "the data" have proven unequivocally that the danger to healthy young people is almost nonexistent. And that fact has been know for several months.

I dunno. If a girl that I really like said she doesn't want a relationship, but is willing to have a little summer fling -- I'm Game! :)

He's not the only reason lol. He didn't will it true. Players have been screaming "WE WANT TO PLAY!" since the season was shut down. Just another, taking credit for what appears to be good now. BET he retracts the statement in some form if someone dies or if the season has to get shut down again if numbers climb again.

I hear rumors that the Buckeyes were on the losing side of the first vote, and it would not be surprising if they had a hand in helping to encourage making some of that player sentiment public. A Big Ten decision is always more secure when OSU and That School Up North are both supporting it.

Anytime now would be OK for the MAC to release an updated schedule. Cant be that complicated. 6 games, no fans.

Comments from our AD a few days ago indicated that Miami likely would play our 5 divisional foes and Ball State, but nothing was finalized.

Games are being cancelled/postponed on every level now. If I was MAC commissioner and had to continue with the season my schedule would be a bit different. I would have the east and west play on different weeks. East would get the odd weeks and west get the even. That's 3 games a week for tv and allows for easy fixes for postponements. It pushes the season longer but allows for the whole "season" to be played.

Weeks away and still no schedule?!? Teams playing in the spring have publicized their schedules but the MAC hasn’t unveiled theirs yet.

I imagine many of those spring schedules are not dependent on ESPN's programming needs. I have no inside information, but it would not surprise me if there is some back and forth between the conference and ESPN on the best way to do this. Or, perhaps, our schedule is sitting in someone's in-box in Bristol, Connecticut.
