So.... that means a 355 team NCAA tournament? Am I reading that correctly?

Good news: Wake Forest returns to the Big Dance!

Bad news: Joe Lunardi wouldn't have a job (is that REALLY bad news?)

This idea probably fails on a technicality: the COVID-19 pandemic is real and doesn't actually go away on November 4th. So quintupling the number of teams may not be such a good idea...

I don't have an issue with this but if they do it maybe the bottom 3/4's play 2 games before the seed. Have a dozen cities or so selected as Hoop centers and play games over a 3 day weekend.

Ultimately, I'd like to go the opposite. Downsize D-1 basketball to 150-200 schools and have a similar tournament

Is this meant to be INSTEAD OF a regular season?

I think it assumes a regular season in which nobody plays any OOC games.

Would they consider a compromise that invites every eligible school with a record of .500 or better? The regular season should count for something.

I don't think so... I took it as the Big Dance
