PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Patterson * LSU
Sophomore * OF * Rowlett, Texas

Enjoyed a phenomenal week, batting .632 (12-for-19) with seven runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.158 slugging percentage to help the Tigers win all four games and score an incredible 56 runs in the process.
In the three-game sweep of Tennessee, Patterson went 9-for-14 (.643) with seven RBI, six runs scored and a 1.214 slugging percentage. Against the Volunteers, Patterson was also 6-for-8 with runners in scoring position and 3-for-5 with five two-out RBI.
Patterson's great week allowed him to raise his season batting average from .321 to .358, third on the Tigers behind Clay Harris (.385) and Aaron Hill (.373).

56 runs in 4 games? Geez I hope they have that out of their systems by this Friday.
:D

well I don't know about that, they do have 2 road series, at State and at Arkansas and Auburn at home. I will say they are the favorites right now to finish on top of the West, but it surely ain't no cakewalk.. All three of these teams could take 2 out of 3 against LSU but on the otherhand, LSU could easily sweep all of them. Funny thing this game of baseball, especially in the SEC West this year.

and the Green Wave magic continues against the Tigers. LSU loses 9-5 and the season series against Tulane. Man they did have y'all's number this year alright. Even the game the Tigers won, Tulane did not make it easy for the Tigers. Good job Green Wave. 03-wink

killerfish.......LSU is "bad" but don't get measured for the crown just yet!

We do have it tough from here on out but we have been playing better. I figure LSU will probably win the west - I just hope we end up "jumping" some of the others in the SEC West log-jam.

State puts up second hitch, winning 5-0, allowing only 4 LSU hits and handing the Tigers their first SEC shutout since 2001 when ironically State beat them 13-0. We beat the pants off the Tigers then and today. 03-lol :D
