Pilot Landing In LA Reports 'Guy In A Jetpack' Flying Near Plane
It’s 2020...

“A pilot landing at Los Angeles International Airport reported that a man in a jetpack was flying dangerously close to the aircraft. The pilot of American Airlines flight 1997 contacted the air traffic control tower to report the man in the jetpack was about 300 yards off the left side of the Airbus A321, which was flying at an altitude of 3,000 feet.”

Reminds me of John Lithgow in The Twilight Zone movie.

"There's someone on the wing. Some...thing."

3000 feet? I guess a catastrophic failure at any altitude would be bad in a jetpack but count me out.

All jokes aside, if you ever flown in or out of LAX you know there is nowhere to take off or land in something like that. The freeway goes under the runways and taxiways.

The first thing I thought of was terrorists doing prep work.

I'd guess Elon Musk. Maybe in case the tunnels don't work out.

I think it would be hard to keep something like that a secret. You can't just take off in one of those things without somebody hearing and seeing something. It's not like LAX is close to the desert. It is in the middle of the urban sprawl of LA.

I suspect Jimmy Neutron is the culprit.
