Even if they are lying to you? Or too ignorant to understand the correct facts? They can tell you that you look like a 30 foot pink elephant, that does mean they are right.

RE: Will you watch CFB and CBB this year if it becomes political?
Short answer: yes

Long answer: Do I like that something else is becoming politicized in our over-politicized country? Heck no. I'm tired of so often having to focus on whether someone or some organization supports this letter or that letter.

But you know what? These athletes often come from very different backgrounds from myself, so why should I be offended that they are speaking out against something that seems to be very personal for them &/or friends & family? Just because I don't see it happening in my own life doesn't make what they are saying not true.

At some point, if we want to claim that we live in a free country, then we have to allow all people to speak their minds without demonizing them & demanding that they be silenced or stop doing something we don't like.

If you don't like it & don't want to watch, great! That's your right, & I hope that this provides opportunities for other good things to come into your life. But don't try to act like that right to not watch is greater than someone else's right to speak out against what they see as an injustice.

The evil leader didn’t say you can have “BLM” on a jersey and that is okay, but if you put “Blue Lives Matter” that is not okay and isn’t allowed.

I support free speech, but there is such a false narrative of you only allow speech you like and act as a gatekeeper to shut down any opposing narratives that aren’t themselves controversial. You should be able to agree that police brutality needs to be addressed while supporting the risks law enforcement takes to keep our society safe. You should be able to acknowledge that the black communities need some help and look for solutions while disagreeing that there is a large, nationwide boogeyman hiding in every structure of society and internalized in every person in America that is out to get the black community.

Having only speech we like allowed into the courts and fields and onto tv just paints a picture that we are uniformly supportive about every aspect of BLM and SJW culture when we aren’t. And when people criticize this, the media and corporate lackeys destroy and ruin them.

Umm, so you get hot and bothered by athletes exercising their constitutional right to peacefully protest, which is supposedly one of the things that you fought for ( what's the old saying. I may not support what you are protesting for but I'll defend your right to do it). As an American citizen I get more upset by more serious things like having an American president that knows that Putin our sworn enemy is putting bounties on our young soldiers heads yet is suddenly quiet as a church mouse

Anybody should be able to protest on their own time. When a student-athlete is in uniform, he is not on his/her own time, but represents the institution of the uniform and has no right to misrepresent that institution.

But you want Biden who is in bed with China. A country that is trying to kill US citizens (non-military) daily. The hypocrisy is strong with this one.
Look, you root for Memphis, that's all you had to say. You have nothing going on in TN or whatever backwoods town you live in. You needed to stress your ignorance to anyone.

Lol. I bet you think that this douchy totally ignorant post proves how smart you are lol. I was going to insult you back but my common decency and obvious intellectual superiority won't let, so I'll just sit back and watch you behave in your very slummy way just like your true leader. Putin,,,,err I mean trump. 07-coffee305-nono

The intention of my post wasn't clear. I didn't mean that coaches and players are brainwashed. I meant the poster and supporters of the Trump Party are. Sorry for the confusion.

I disagree that "that there is a large, nationwide boogeyman hiding in every structure of society and internalized in every person in America that is out to get the black community". I don't know of anybody who believes this. I do believe that statement would be true if you change the word "every" to "a sizeable minority". Systemic racism doesn't mean that racism is universal. Just that it is widespread in every region of America.

Hardly anybody cares if they do this stuff when they aren't in uniform. But when they bring it onto the field, that is offensive.

Haven't watched MLB or the NBA yet and really don't intend too. Jury is still out on the NFL although that is shaping up to be a circus too. Did watch the INDY 500 though. Will watch college football if it doesn't turn into a political circus. If there is constant political chatter during the game I can turn off the volume, switch the channel, or turn off the TV. You don't have that in the poll so I exercised my right not to vote. If I want to listen to the political crap, the lies, and the joke they call news broadcasting now days I can turn on CNN, Fox, or any other left wing or right wing channel for a good laugh. However those channels at present are like the NBA and MLB and on off mode right now. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana COGS COGS 05-mafia 04-cheers

I've been leaning towards that myself although I voted no because I don't want politics mixed with the sports. I'm having a very hard time justifying watching CFB from noon to 11 pm on Saturday followed by the NFL from 1 pm to midnight on Sunday. That's not including any of the pregame shows.

Fair question.

It's easy to turn off the NBA. It's easy to turn off MLB.

Let's just hope that college sports don't come to that.

RE: Will you watch CFB and CBB this year if it becomes political?
This is a somewhat loaded question. You can mix some of the politics of this and it is OK. It comes down to HOW MUCH.

I can see a statement being made by the players at the start of the game (maybe even at the start of each quarter); the announcers will refer to it, Thank you and play the game........ I can live with that.

If they go the NBA rout and jam it down your throat for the entire 60 minutes - I am out.

I survived with no sports for 3+ months and while I missed it, I wasn't jonesing for it either. Anything in moderation is fine with me......... But if they think they are changing my perspective by grandstanding they are not only losing a viewer, they are turning most people off to the point they are trying to make in the first place - exactly the opposite of what they think they are accomplishing.
