I read this as her admitting that the dems see themselves as the state, whereas from the other side of the aisle, we hear that the MEDIA is the enemy of THE PEOPLE.

See the difference?

Obviously Burgess Meredith is pretty well know but the guy who played the "prosecutor" in that clip was later in a similar themed episode of Star Trek DS9 called Tribunal where he played a purposely inept defense lawyer.
