Daily Tar Heel headline: "UNC has a cluster---- on its hands"
More troubling than 130 cases, 10% positive test rate.

Ohio Governor was a "case"... then after another try he wasn't.
I'd dare say many of these "cases" aren't really cases either.

“Many”? Not really. Very few people in Ohio are taking the type of test the Governor did that gave a false positive.

Oh, OK.
Everybody else gets the good test and they give the Governor the 2nd rate garbage test that doesn't work.
Riiiiight.

This really isn’t that complicated. You should follow the news once in a while.
“DeWine's office said the second test was a PCR test, which "is known to be extremely sensitive, as well as specific, for the virus," while the one administered Thursday morning was a rapid point-of-care antigen test at a mobile testing site facilitated by the Republican National Committee.
The PCR test is the most common test used in the country...”
DeWine’s false positive came on a rapid test required by the RNC before coming into contact by Trump. Both subsequent negatives were via the PCR which is the type used for almost every test administered in Ohio.

I'm failing to see where it said "most common" means better.
And you left this part out "the conflicting results underscore the importance of accuracy" ... which obviously is not happening.

I'll start by saying that everyone, even the experts, should be open to new data as this progresses, as we knew nothing about this six to eight months ago. That said, I'm comfortable following the lead of the MD's and PhD's at the nationally rated medical facility I work at who study the ever evolving testing literature on a daily basis. They, along with other experts across Ohio, have current consensus on using the PCR.
Whether someone prefers the PCR or the rapid antigen, the problem with your original claim ("many of these "cases" aren't really cases") is that the false negative rate is higher than the false positive rate. The false positive rate is quite low for both kinds of tests, as discussed at the link.

RE: Not good
When you rush in science, you tend to repeat things due to error. As someone stated earlier, this virus is novel; meaning it is new, never been seen before. And although there are corona viruses, that does not mean there is a one size fit all assay. There is a reason why the common cold does not have a vaccine. There is a reason why vaccines take a long time to develop. These early antibody test, etc were brought to market at a record pace and as a result, some of these assays do not have the robustness, specificity nor accuracy that is necessary. So, as in all scientific endeavors, they are tested, disproved and replaced by something better. Unfortunately, the need for anything trumped the typical rigors associated with therapeutic medicines. As we learn more and as time passes, there will be a move to normal methodology when it comes to development of more effective therapies.

Myocarditis doesn’t just go away with time. This will almost certainly cause permanent damage.
Except that every virus can cause it from HPV, HIV, Herpes, Staph, and Strep.
