Susan Rice and millionaire husband made large donation to Biden campaign
Quote:Susan Rice and her husband ponied up increasingly large donations for Joe Biden’s campaign as her stock rose as his potential running mate, according to a new report.

The Obama-era national security adviser and her millionaire TV producer husband Ian Cameron donated $24,000 to the Democratic nominee’s campaign in the month of June alone, the Washington Free Beacon reported Monday.

The sum is a huge boost to the modest $5,800 the couple had previously donated to the campaign over the course of Biden’s entire White House run.

According to the Free Beacon report, just two days before CNN reported on June 2 that Rice was being considered to join Biden’s ticket, Cameron cut a $5,600 check to the Biden Victory Fund.

Three weeks later on June 26, Cameron donated another $5,600, while Rice herself on the same day donated $12,800, the report said, bringing the total contribution to $24,000.

Rice is considered along with Sen. Kamala Harris to be one of the last candidates remaining in the race to be Biden’s veep.

The former US Ambassador to the United Nations is openly lobbying for the job, telling NPR that she she was “honored and humbled” to be on the shortlist and that she’d be a great fit for the job given her two decades in Washington, DC.

“I think I could bring my experience of almost now 20 years in the senior levels of the executive branch to bear to help tackle the most pressing problems we face,” she told NPR’s “Morning Edition” last week.

Good politico article today on VP picks and how much they've raised for his campaign so far. This is nothing. Warren brought his campaign 7.7million from events already. Kamala around 6m.

Trumps been auctioning off his time at MaraLago post election so this shouldnt be a surprise either. Whitehouse has probably been for sale since Washington retired.

Given the available choices, that seems as good a method as any.

Through volunteer donors and fundraising, or simply scratching Sloe a check?

You don't see a slight difference there?

There is a difference. But I'd be shocked if similar personal contributions from other candidates dont rival susan rice's. I was just making the point that this is pittance by comparison of what each candidate is bringing in via other ventures.

I think Trump would have to pay a donor to spend 30 minutes with Mike Pence.
