Temple football is looking to fill game dates lost to Rutgers and Miami: "We are also actively looking to schedule non-conference opponents for our 2020 schedule," Acting AD Fran Dunphy said.

If Tenn State wants to play that should be a "no brainer". They only have 8 games. You could play the game at 5:00. Tenn State takes the buses down on Saturday morning and go back after the game. Is that great? No! but it takes the concern of being at the hotel and increases their profit.

We could have The Watson Brown Bowl with Tenn Tech

ECU, Troy or Appy St if we can get them at home would be okay unless we want to go to Clemson:)

I’m guessing We are asking Troy and if they don’t want to lose a home game it will be Samford, UNA, or Chattanooga.

UNA is at Chattanooga

Samford is at ETSU

Those are all good opponents for a "home & home". But do you want to lose a good home game when you can't sell a lot of tickets?

UAB seems to play an FCS school early on. So at this point, low money in and low money out.

I'd probably rather go with an FCS opponent similar to Ala A&M.

If its a regional FCS school, we might get a few of their fans to come. The UAB fans will be there, regardless of who we get in the stadium.

Troy only has 9 games scheduled. They lost home games vs. UAPB and NC State and a road game at Tennessee. Their 1 remaining non-conference game is at UMass. Troy should grab any game they can at this point.

Samford has a full schedule with Florida State choosing them for the non-conference game (on 9/19)

UNA would only be available for a game on 8/29

Chattanooga is in a weird spot. WKU postponed their game with them instead of canceling. The two schools share no common open dates which is puzzling. The Mocs would be available on 8/29 or 10/24.

Samford is now at FSU on 9/19. The ETSU game will likely be played on 9/12.

I don’t see us playing on the Saturday the 29th with a game the following Thursday if we can help it.

Breaking: @MTAthletics AD @ChrisMassaroAD announces that @MT_FB will play Troy both in week 1 and week 3 this year. No official contracts yet but Massaro says that's the plan. Week 1 will be at Floyd Stadium and week 3 will be at Troy.

Middle Tennessee AD Chris Massaro says MTSU and Troy are working on a home-and-home.

Contract details not official, but plan is a game at MTSU in Week 1 or Week 3, return to Troy in Week 12.

I was going to ask if a Troy game would impact our h/h series with them but that’s not until ‘28/‘29
