I moved away from San Diego 2 years ago.

We knew lots of people considering leaving. Not just new arrivals like us, but people from there. They tended to be upwardly mobile professionals (there's not many jobs in SD outside military & the tourism industry), but there were plenty of normal people leaving too.

One couple we knew had their whole family in San Diego. Grandparents were born there. They moved to Omaha, Nebraska.

You know things are bad when you have average workers leaving 70 degree year-round weather for the northern plains.

I couldn't agree more....

I flew into SAN 15 consecutive mos back in the day...truly beautiful every time....what a waste...
