This week the NCAA Football Oversight Committee recommended a waiver to allow Football Bowl Subdivision teams to count two wins against Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams toward bowl eligibility this season.

The Group of 5 Athletic Directors requested this waiver from the NCAA back in April. Now the Oversight Committee approves the waiver on the heels of the Big Ten formally announcing they are moving to a Conference-Only schedule.

I think maybe that conference events are overtaking this. If the other FBS conferences follow suit and move to conference-only schedules, than that will make it moot as there won't be any games vs FCS teams.

I'm curious if all conferences go conference only should the national championship be skipped this year? Just turn the semifinal games to at large berths for a bowl game?
