Older Virginia Tech alum and fans sometimes still call it VPI, but they're a vanishing breed (and they're also more likely to call them the Gobblers)

New Haven to the NEC will be the next chess piece since earlier this year, they announced exploring to go D1. I wonder if there was a heads up back then that Robert Morris going to leave?

Therefore, the biggest surprise of 2020 would be NJIT moving to AEC unless evidence is uncovered that was predicted.

...but what’s the biggest surprise that hasn’t happened that David predicted.

Whatever it is, I'm positive it involves Colorado-Mesa.

I was on Colorado Mesa's new and growing campus just yesterday. It's a vibrant school, a far cry from what it was 35 years ago when each of my three kids attended for a year to get their 101 courses out of the way before moving on to graduate from CU-Boulder and CSU. It's not yet ready for prime time athletically, but one of these days...

I think they're trying to emulate MIT. There's also RIT and NYIT in the region.

See, once Hampton left for Big South, you had to guess others might go. NC A&T isn’t too much if a shock, then. Hampton was a shock; they did it first.

I guess what shocks me about FAMU is that it happened with only FAMU and not others in MEAC. And, not to say schools leaving HBCU conferences isn’t shocking, but FAMU leaving one for another seems like a knife in the heart of MEAC. It just seems different.

I'm gonna cheat a bit and use the last year and say UConn to the Big East. No one thought they'd actually go through with pretty much giving up the idea of P5 FB membership and going back to the Big East.

NYIT goes by New York Tech when referencing athletics. It's that way on their new logo that was revealed a year ago.

Quote:Also, athletics will primarily be called New York Tech again — the name by which the school historically had been known (although New York Institute of Technology remains the formal name and NYIT remains an acceptable alternative).
