Last Full Measure is a Must See Movie....
.....it's not political, but it is about what brotherhood, service to country, and the pain of war are about. I spent many hours with Vets of this war and this movie blew me away for its reality of emotions, pride of service, and interpersonal relationships and oddly it is more about the redemption of one not even connected to the war than it is about the Air Force Para-rescue Jumpers who brought medical assistance to the wounded, and the real life hero William Pitsenbarger. This is a true story well acted and well told. It's the best movie about Viet Nam veterans I've seen.
This move premiered on February 23rd in Piqua, Ohio in Pitsenbarger's hometown. It was an immediate victim of the Theater closing due to COVID19. I got my DVD from Amazon. You'll probably have to do something similar, or Netflix it.

Its also the title of a very good book on the 1st Minnesota. It was a regiment of the Civil War that suffered enormous casualties. Never so much as at Gettysburg where a suicide charge on the 2nd day plugged a hole in the union line long enough to bring in reinforcements. That charge may well have saved the union from a devastating defeat. The regiment suffered 70% casualties at Gettysburg.

See the movie and you'll know why I want to keep the OP on topic.

RE: Last Full Measure is a Must See Movie....
My Father in Law was a PJ in Vietnam. He had heard of Pitsenbarger. The gentleman who was a consultant on the movie to give it the real feel for PJs served with my FIL.
My FIL saved a high ranking colonel during Vietnam and for that will have a spot in Arlington when he's called to the great beyond, however in the Air Force museum, he's part of an exhibit next to Pitsenbarger.
He urged us to watch the movie. He's seen it several times. I agree it's a really good movie.
BTW, the maroon berets were first given to my FIL's class. They decided it would be an honor to give the first beret to the best PJ in the class.... My wife took a picture this weekend while we were at his camp with my son wearing the first beret given out. My FIL has stated when he passes he wants the Beret to go to somewhere that honors PJs or to the USAF museum.
