Let's let the voters decide if a Congressman should remain in office.

I'm not talking about one term. Two terms for Senators, 4 to 6 for Representatives. This "experience" has given us the disaster we have.

JFK nearly got us into a nuclear war because he was a 43 year old who couldn't keep his thing in his pants. Nobody else came so close. We have a lot of 30 something idiots in Congress. There are a lot of good people 65 and older. If we have term limits, we don't have to worry about Pelosi's continuing until their face falls off.

Saw a good quote the other day. "If you don't realize what an idiot you were when you were younger, you are still an idiot."

Who in there is good and 65 or older? If there's an argument for people being to young, then there's an argument for people being too old.

And granted, my desire is to give it to voters. I'm not certain that term limits have given us anything different regarding the presidency and all it would do is make Congress unstable. There's also research that says that they don't do any good for actually getting new blood in there. The local parties will just recruit someone along the same lines. There's a reason countries don't really implement them for representatives.

Lots of cities have term limits. I think it has limited the corruption and cronyism as well as bringing in new ideas.

We need some instability in Congress. 12 years is a long time in one job. What % of people even work for one firm for 12 years in their career? The reality is that incumbency is a huge advantage. And among the Democrats, they have been working very hard to make it an even bigger advantage. The DNC works much harder than the RNC to hand pick its candidates.

As for age, the standard retirement age is now 67. You would eliminate them before the social security retirement age.

You think it has limited corruption and cronyism, but has it actually?

Yes. The worst corruption is always the people who have been there the longest.

The idea that a political party is nominating somebody like that is mind blowing to me. I guess they figure the VP and other officials can help with decisions. I think the whole thing is weird.

It really is weird. And they have been pushing him. Its not like he did it opposed to the party apparatus.

What is equally bad is that the media ignores it.

I watched this in my dad in the few years before he passed. It will become clearly evident when Joe Biden looks like a deer in the headlights at the debate, unless dems are able somehow to avoid having Joe debate the Donald. Trump will have to walk a fine line to avoid looking like he's being mean to a man clearly not capable of leading anything.

It's obvious that they (dem party) are going to help Joe pick a VP who will ascend to the top soon after the election when it is obvious that he's not capable of understanding what is going on around him. Luckily for the right, I don't see any candidates that would worry me as far as having the ability to unite the people.
