Pelosi the hypocrite? - #MeToo
I believe she's clearly hypocritical on this issue... and am interested to see if others have better examples.

DECEMBER 13, 2018 PRESS RELEASE
Washington, D.C. – Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Congress passed the bipartisan MeToo legislation on an overwhelmingly bipartisan basis:
“Today, the Congress made historic progress to uphold human dignity and protect the inalienable right to live free from harassment or abuse. This bill protects everyone in our legislative community from workplace abuse, and helps foster a climate of respect and dignity in our institution.

“The MeToo bill is the product of months of thorough discussions with survivors, advocates and experts, and a year of thoughtful debate with Members on both sides of the aisle. It shines a bright light on the scourge of workplace abuse, which has been allowed to fester in the shadows for too long. It protects the personal safety of all who come to the Congress to serve, by streamlining and strengthening the resolution and reporting process. And it is proudly bipartisan because the fight against workplace harassment and discrimination transcends party or politics.

“When House Democrats take the gavel in January, we will move to build on the progress made by this legislation. We must end the culture of complicity and silence around workplace harassment by ensuring that taxpayer money will never again be used for settlements, and that Members are held personally liable for discrimination in their offices. Congress must also now work with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to forge a path forward to improve protections in every sector and workplace in America.

“On behalf of House Democrats, I also salute Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Congressman Bradley Byrne, House Administration Committee Ranking Member Bob Brady and House Administration Committee Chairman Gregg Harper for their relentless, persistent leadership to craft and pass this vital legislation. This progress would not have been possible without the extraordinary courage of the #MeToo Movement, and we must continue our work to confront harassment and discrimination everywhere.“

Now we all know that Pelosi as a career politician chooses her words very carefully... while Trump speaks off the cuff quite loudly.... however....

(regarding Kavanaugh) After Thursday’s hearing, the president hailed Kavanaugh’s testimony as “powerful [and] honest,” while accusing Kavanaugh’s Democratic critics of conducting a witch hunt.

Pelosi took a shot at the 11 Republicans on the Judiciary Committee — all of them men — who have been largely supportive of Kavanaugh.

“Do they not have daughters? Do they not have wives? Do they not have sisters? Do they not have mothers?” Pelosi asked. “It’s a strange, strange group that when someone comes forward they mock the allegation and praise the assaulter.”

and yet.... regarding Biden...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that she has “a great comfort level” with how former vice president Joe Biden has addressed an allegation of sexual assault from the mid-1990s and praised him as “a person of great integrity.”

Pelosi’s comments — in a morning television interview and later at a news conference — amounted to her strongest defense of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, whose campaign has flatly denied the allegation of Tara Reade, who worked for Biden while he was a senator from Delaware.

“I want to remove all doubt in anyone’s mind: I have a great comfort level with the situation as I see it, with all the respect in the world for any woman who comes forward, with all the highest regard for Joe Biden,” Pelosi said at a weekly news conference.

How is this anything other than her mock(ing) the allegation and praise the assaulter.”

Does she not have daughters? Is she not a wife? Does she not have sisters? Does she not have mothers?”

The only meaningful difference in the charges is that the one she believes has less evidence against a high school senior, about the same age as his accuser, and the other has more evidence against a sitting Congressman, 20 years the senior of his accuser... whom she had recently promised the country she would 'cast light upon'.

She insisted on a Senate hearing on one. Apparently all she needs is to hear Joe's denial and that's good enough for her

So much for building on that legislation she was so proud of.

At the very least, she should be calling for a hearing/FBI investigation as she did for Ford.
