Lol. Davenport was hot and cold for sure, but the ability was there. Maurice rarely dunked, wasn’t a strong rebounder and almost never blocked shots so surely we’ll get more energy (and hopefully production) out of this guy.

If Maurice came down with every rebound he got his hands on he would have been a very good rebounder...But it seemed like he lost half of them

This kid will be tasked to block shots and rebound.
I bet he'll be a nice piece to the puzzle.

I do agree it seems interesting that no one else besides Brooks and some Memphis folks think we’re getting Green or Greg Brown. I doubt Cisse moved to Memphis for nothing so I’m curious to see how it all plays out.

I think you need some blue-collar guys on your team. It helps to have some guys that don't mind doing the dirty work. In 08, we had two studs (Rose and CDR) and the rest were blue-collared role players. We are at least one stud away from being a really good team (I believe DJ and/or Boogie should take the next step and also help a lot with scoring this year as well, the rest just have to accept and play their roles).

i think that is the problem. All we have on the roster are role players. The closest to a go-to guy is probably Jeffries and it remains to be seen if he's even that. (i'm assuming Achiuwa goes pro)

My initial reaction is we aren't confident of getting Brown to sign this guy. Don't know anything beyond the predictions but they also are trending against getting Brown. The idea that we signed him for defense just doesn't make sense. Our biggest problem last season was an inability to score in the half court. Defense was not a problem most times & won't be this season. We need an inside offensive threat & we don't have one. And it will likely be a very long season unless we find one.

How many scholly's are available......Assuming Precious elects for the @NBA

Precious was our best at-rim defender and he is gone. Staff is planning on taking at least 3-4 so this would have no impact on Brown - they would have needed a 2nd big either way.
