5MAN's first ever Tball game was played tonight, and I can tell you I'm one proud papa!!! This is him in his second at-bat tonight. My wife had to take the picture quick because he has an uncanny knack for hitting everything thrown at him. The kid can hit! HARD! He only had two at-bats tonight, due to time restraints, and he only had two pitches thrown at him, drilling them both up the middle on the first pitch. One went for a single, and one was a fielder's choice. His first hit would've been more than a single, but he forgot to keep running once he got to first. The fielder's choice wasn't necessarily his fault; the kid on first forgot to run, too, so they had ample time to get the runner out at second. Tball, what are ya gonna do?
Anyway, he had a blast and lived up to every thing I taught him at home as far as batting goes. Maybe I'm just a little biased, but he has a beautiful swing and hits everything!!! I had to start pitching him rubber baseballs because he has hit me so many times pitching to him at home. He's unbelievable! Now, when we're playing at home, I pitch him the ball and run like hell to get out of the way.....and he's 5! There's only one other kid on his team that hits as hard as mine does, and he's twice my kid's size.
Promising future ahead for this future Rebel (I hope)!! And by the way, he has his hat turned around backwards in this pic. Another kid on the team turned his around, and several others followed suit, including him. Gotta work on that. The guy behind the plate is just the coach from the other team, there are no catchers in Tball. And they don't keep score at this level, but I think we won.
Hope this works:
DANGIT!!!! :bang: Anyone know how to post personal pics with no host? Is that possible?

well I have alerted Coach Polk to scout your boy.. :D That's great man, sounds like you might want to get a wiffle ball, all the hitting action from your son with less damage to dad. As a personal favor to my Rebel pal, email me the pic and I will put it up on my personal comcast site then post it here. Nothing there really but some artwork of the walking bulldog stomping on Batman. LOL. :D

I'm proud and happy for you 10-Man. I remember Benton's first "coach pitch team........seems like such a short time ago. Been through all the league stuff, traveling teams, Jr. and Sr. Legion, high school baseball and going to graduate here in a couple of weeks.
BTW: Tyler is playing outside linebacker - doing some "head-hunting". They are going to have a Spring football jamboree. I'll let you know how things go. Then it's back to Legion ball for the summer.
Enjoy EVERY second - it's gone before you know it and certainly before you want it to.
Tell "5" we are proud of him - give him "5" for us!

Thank ya, Function, I am proud of him and I do appreciate your comments.
Tell Benton and Tyler hi for me, would ya? Hope to see them again all during the upcoming season, and hopefully one day watching them in a Rebel uniform. Both your boys were complete gentleman every time I talked with them last year, I know you are proud, too.

I'll bet he's doing great 10! Although, I hear Mike Price was in J-Town the other night to look at 5MAN for football. He was spotted at Danny's Downtown.

That's fantastic about 5Man! I know you're proud, 10! Never had any kids of my own, so I didn't get to experience what must be really special. I did get to see a close friend's boys grow up thru sports, and was able to see how great it must be.
I can hear it in a few years: Wizard, who by then is the Rebel announcer, on an October afternoon, calls the play - "Number 5 rolls left, throws downfield....TOUCHDOWN OLE MISS!!"
The standing-room crowd of 60,000+ erupts...

Thanks, LR, I appreciate it. The football announcement was great, but you forgot a couple things......
he'll be a three-sport star!! Baseball, basketball, and football! So, Wiz will be busy calling his name.
A man can dream can't he? :D

You better believe it! And even if he doesn't excel in sports, the experience will make him excel in life.. One of my buddy's sons is a State Farm Agent as well as a 1st Looie in the 101st Airborne in Uzbekistan; the other is a successful young banker with a great future also.

Aw man, LRrebel.... you REALLY don't know what you have missed. Knowing some of our "pals" on here don't have kids of their own is going to make me cherish every moment even more.
(I'm assuming the younger ones and single folks will eventually have that pleasure.)
You are correct in that you can enjoy other people's kids and relative's
kids. I coached little league, officiated, etc. up to and past age 32...when i got married and started my own team.

Rebstill, It's not over when your kids leave the nest. Wait until you start having grandkids and watching them excel in sports. I was never prouder than when my kids hit a home run, made the winning basket as the clock ran out, or crack some kids jaw in football. But some how it's differant with your grandkids. Somehow I seem to enjoy it more. I can't explain it, I guess I have settled down and enjoy the game more without the worries of raising a family on my mind.

You are probably right 32. I totally forgot about looking forward to grandchildren one of these days. I should have realized all the things you said, because that is exactly how my folks and my in laws are.
Thanks for reminding me!

Yeah, cause the parents can worry about their kids and us grandparents can just enjoy it. Actually, I'm still waiting on my grandbaby to be born. She's due in just 6 days... but boy, they seem like a long 6 days...
Congratulations 10MAN!!!

Congratulations 10MAN!!!
Thank ya, MsNole and I guess a big hearty Congrats to you is in order, too. I know you are excited, and like Still said, please keep us informed on the new arrival.
By the way, 5MAN went 2-2, including a double, an RBI and a run scored last night in his second game. He hit one out to the outfield on the fly, which is unheard of in Tball. I was immensely proud again. :D I've got me a little slugger, y'all!
