So WTF was the mission? I doubt very seriously that you have any idea without looking it up. It had a name, and that's all you need to assume that it had somehow magical powers to solve a problem. It didn't have enough staff to do that before the "cut" (if it was in fact a cut)--unless the staff had magical unicorns that could fart out test kits and surgical masks and ventilators on command. And if we in fact had such unicorns and fired them, then maybe you have a point.

Bottom line. This is now looking like it won't give the democrats enough dead bodies to win in November, so now they are trying to get enough people out of work and on the dole to win.
