No absolutely not. They wanted out ASAP. The pandemic actually my help them financially by saving on travel for spring sports and they weren't getting a cut of the NCAA BB credits anyway. That said hope everyone and their families are staying healthy under this bad COVID-19 situation especially in NYC and North Jersey where the area has been hit extremely hard.

What's funny is we could have half our schedule against P5 teams one year, lose all of those games and make a bowl because we loaded up on cupcakes with the other half of the schedule. Would make us look like we're improving a lot even if we actually improved only marginally lol.
I could see UConn beating UMass, ODU, and Maine...Liberty will be a toss up.
3-4 Ws at the most.
I see can see wins over UMASS, ODU, Miane, Liberty, SJSU, MTSU....
I see toss ups: Army, Illionis
I see Losses to Ole Miss, UNC, UVA, Indiana
Not to bad for a basketball school
Bawhahahaha!!!
I want a hit of whatever you're smoking! Uconn has seen an exodus of talent through the "transfer portal." That you can actually "see" six, with up to eight wins, is incredible.

I will admit that my MTSU Blue Raiders should have a solid chance to beat UConn this fall. And Middle will likely be mediocre.

Yea I don't think we get to 6 this upcoming season either
I see 6-7 wins as UConn's high water mark until you get an innovative coach. Edsall has his strengths. Above average in development of underated talent but tough to beat P5 teams with #110 rated recruiting classes. You'll win your share against the bottom 7 or so teams on your schedule but will have very little success against the Bigger Programs.
I can definitely see this being accurate. I think getting back to winning 6-7 games period is an important step in the right direction. Once we do that we can potentially attract a better coach. For now we need to work with what we've got, unfortunately.

If you haven't noticed, we have a very large contingent of (to use a phrase slhNavy used in another context) "in your face AAC" posters on this forum. Many of these guys are not even UConn fans. You are not going to convince them that UConn is the winner in all of this and we "uppity" AAC schools need to know our place.

RE: So long UConn!
Too early to tell if UConn made the right move. It is very pricey leaving a conference. Will that money ever get recovered? If they get invited to a P5 the answer is yes. I don't see them getting invited unless there is a huge realignment again in 5-7 years.
Money aside, going to the BE is a huge win for them. MSG is a special place and they will probably have the most fans there if they get back to Top 10-15 status like the old days.
Football I think can carve out a niche but will never see avTop 25 ranking again as an Indy.

SJSU went 5-7 last season winning games like @Army and @Arkansas...I doubt UConn could hang with Army, Illinois, or SJSU...MTSU could be a battle but I'll take MTSU in a close one.
Memphis is a basketball school and we're coming off a Cotton Bowl appearance.

Uconn faces the real possibility that they cannot play in 2020 due to Covid.

I'm praying we open... The thought of losing anyone from our incoming bball recruiting class, coupled with no football in the first year of the transition to independence (could worsen the blow the program takes) is pretty frightening.
I think there will be a lot of blowback if the campuses remain closed, so I'm hoping the political pushback and financial pressure force the board to open the school.
