After 1 a goo start ...we’re up 22-15. Hunter still out-Davis with 9 so far-EMU offensively challenged...I like our chances.

At the half 37-33 Lady Huskies...we let them get back in it late as we had a double digit lead at one time but so far so good.

Handle the ball. Handle the ball. Handle the ball. We have 8 turnovers to only one for them. They have outscored us 9-0 off turnovers. Handle the ball. Handle the ball...........................

I would consider myself at least a casual women’s hoop fan—-but when was the last time Castro played in a game? I do not remember seeing her at all this year.

I’ve been watching the live feed on EMU site and they had her in the game and box score earlier—-not now——they must have messed her number up with someone. I was totally perplexed for a bit. Need to find it again this last quarter,

Yea she warmed up with the team in pregame at a home game a week or so ago but then had a big ice pack on her back during the game on the bench

Final we lose 76-69... super disappointed for the girls and a disappointing season no doubt. WOW what the heck happened we were up by 12 at one time?

Just my opinion...Lisa has 2 years on her contract left so she’ll finish that but to me she’s on the clock.

Didn’t mean to send but to finish my thought again just my humble opinion but she needs to produce big in these next 2 years not just more mediocrity or we need to look elsewhere. She’s likable-the girls are very nice but to me that’s not enough-we need a consistent winner...again just my opinion.

RE: Women’s Basketball at EMU MAC Tourney 6:00 ESPN + Official Game Thread
For once we are in just about total agreement. They were still struggling with some basic things even though they played hard the last 10 games or so. I watched some Big 12 games (they had a bunch on espn+), just for the heck of it, and the contrast was immediately apparent even with the teams that lost. They're good and it showed. If we want that level, the Huskies have got to stop being "the girls" and start being wbb players. Friendly is fine on the social circuit.

Tell you a short one. Got a chance in the old fieldhouse to have several one-on-ones with Jane Albright. Before one game, Tammy Hinchee and Lisa Foss (two all-time NIU greats) were obviously p'o'd with each other. Albright started them both, then saw something on the court she didn't like, and out they came (sat on opposite ends of the bench). Don't know what it was about, but Albright laid down the law. I asked later; she just said "no." Albright didn't care about W-L at that point; she wanted a "team."

Imo, that's what we want. There comes a point -- I don't know where it is -- when you want to see 2 steps forward, one step back, not one step forward, two steps back. That point, wherever, is when you know a team/program is on the upswing. I haven't seen it yet. Next year's team will be all Carlsen's. Like you said ... two years.

FYI, I started a separate "commentary" thread (not stepping on anyone's toes) for all/others to comment. Post if you feel like it. If nothing else, some stats are up.
