NET
I must admit that I have no clue what the NET is, other than it is some sort of evaluation system used by the selection committee.

RE: NET
Basically, it is just another way to screw mid-major teams. Last time I checked we were around 140 in the NET, in the 80's in the RPI. Never thought the RPI did us a ton of favors, but obviously it was better than the new NET rankings.

RE: NET
We may be assured that no moves the NCAA makes are going to help the little guys.

RE: NET
More evidence that the NET was developed to help the Power5 conference schools:

Texas Tech (21 NET, 68 RPI)

Purdue (32 NET, 77 RPI)

Stanford (25 NET, 56 RPI)

Michigan (24 NET, 50 RPI)

Ohio State (15 NET, 39 RPI)

All but Ohio State would be "out" based on their RPI's. Probably, 4 of these teams will get in primarily because of their NET rankings. I think Purdue is a stretch, but they may get in as well. The NCAA will argue that the NET is a better measure than the RPI. So what do you say to all those teams that were left out, over the past few decades, because of a low RPI.
